About 10 years ago, Aurora (they/them) was preparing to welcome their first child into the world. They vividly remember the fire alarms going off while they were laboring in the bedroom. Their wife was boiling water to heat up the worlds largest birth tub (thanks amazon) and frantically preparing the house for the birth of their daughter. Aurora’s midwife had talked with them about a doula, but it wasn’t until that moment that Aurora thought they needed one. After the arrival of the midwife and two students, Aurora’s wife could support them while the students took over the prep work.
Inspired by the incredible care and support of the Seattle Home Maternity midwives Aurora decided to pursue a journey into supporting birth and postpartum. Diving in head first 10 years ago Aurora is still humbled by each and every family they serve. The desire to help each family connect with their own birth choices has allowed Aurora the opportunity to utilize the pregnancy, birth and postpartum knowledge that they have been gathering for almost a decade.
Aurora has had the joy to work with hundreds of families over the years, and is excited to work with many more. Aurora is a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to folx through out the full-spectrum of reproductive healthcare. This includes, but is not limited to; fertility, birth, breast/chestfeeding, postpartum, abortion, birth control, miscarriage, still birth, c-section, adoption, surrogacy and parenthood.
